What is an Electrical Installation Condition Report?
An EICR (formerly known as a Periodic Inspection) provides you with the most up-to-date information about your home’s electrical wiring. This inspection includes taking a look behind light switches and outlets, checking for any defects that could cause problems in future repairs or updates to circuits throughout the property plus grading these issues using codes so it’s easy when telling what level of urgency they carry!
The Electrical Installation Condition Reports are required to be updated every 10 years or 5 years if your property is rented. If you have an EICR done less than 12 months ago, it’s recommended that a new one will need to be conducted before renting out the home again in order for insurance companies and landlords alike to be sure about its condition and safety standards.
